California Orders – FFL Requirement FAQUpdated a month ago

Important: Failure to coordinate with your FFL prior to submitting transfer information is the most common cause of shipping delays.

Why does my California order require an FFL?

California law requires certain products to be transferred through a valid Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL). For applicable items, shipments cannot be sent directly to residential or non-FFL addresses and must be delivered to a licensed FFL for transfer.

Does this apply to all products?

No. The FFL requirement applies only to products that are regulated under California law. All California-bound orders are reviewed to determine whether an FFL transfer is required before shipment.

How do I submit my FFL information?

After placing your order, you must complete the required compliance form using the link provided in your order confirmation email. The form must include complete and accurate information for the receiving FFL.

Orders will remain on hold until the information is received, reviewed, and approved.

Can my FFL send their license directly to JMac Customs?

Yes. Some FFLs prefer not to share their license with customers. In those cases, the FFL may email a copy of their Federal Firearms License directly to [email protected] and must include your order number.

Please note: we can only ship to the address listed on the Federal Firearms License.

How long will my order be on hold?

Your order will remain on hold until all required FFL information is submitted and approved. Processing time depends on how quickly the correct information is provided and whether the selected FFL is valid and eligible to receive the shipment.

Am I responsible for contacting the FFL?

Yes. Customers are responsible for coordinating with their selected FFL to confirm they are willing and able to accept the transfer before submitting their information. Submitting an FFL that is unwilling or unable to receive the shipment may result in delays or cancellation.

What happens if my FFL information is incomplete or incorrect?

If the submitted information is incomplete, inaccurate, or non-compliant, your order will remain on hold until the issue is resolved. You may be contacted to provide corrected information.

What happens if I don’t provide FFL information?

If valid and compliant FFL information is not provided within a reasonable timeframe, JMac Customs reserves the right to cancel the order.

Can you ship to a different address than what’s on the FFL?

No. All FFL shipments must be delivered only to the address listed on the Federal Firearms License. Alternate addresses cannot be used.

Who can I contact if I have questions?

If you have questions about the FFL process or need assistance, please contact our team at [email protected] before submitting your information.
