Why do some muzzle devices have a barrel length restriction?Updated 4 months ago

Some muzzle devices, specifically the LAF, 2C, 4C, and original 360, will have a 10.5” barrel length restriction.

Although rare, when testing these devices with supersonic ammunition, we found that high rates of fire such as full auto or “mag dumps” could cause the device to become damaged due to excess pressure and gasses from unburnt powder on shorter barrels. This is why the barrel length restriction was put in place. There is no issue with subsonic ammunition.

For firearms with barrels shorter than 10.5”, please see our 360HD (Heavy Duty) muzzle device, specifically designed for shorter barrels.
